How do I know if I am allowed to have a shed on my property?

Answer: Consult all local building codes, as well as city and county ordinances, to ensure that constructing your shed does not require a building permit.  Proper building permit documentation may be required in your neighborhood, therefore finding out before purchasing is essential.

What materials are Lifetime sheds made of?

Answer: All of our Lifetime sheds are built with double-wall, UV protected high density polyethylene walls with steel wall-beams for added strength. The floor is made from this same material which will not crack, chip or peel and is oil, stain and slip resistant.  The windows are made with thick and durable polycarbonate panels. The doors are constructed with reinforced steel for extra security, sturdiness and include an exterior padlock loop along with two zinc deadbolts on the interior of the doors.

How does the shed ship to me?

Answer: The shed is delivered to you in multiple boxes by a delivery truck and is hand-delivered to your curbside. The boxes will be unloaded and placed at the curb where your driveway meets the street. If additional arrangements are needed please call us at 866-696-3762 to discuss.

How do I secure the shed to the ground?

Answer: There are numerous ways you can secure your shed to the ground.  We recommend pouring a concrete foundation, building a wood platform out of treated lumber, compacted road base, or creating a pad with compacted sand or gravel.  Whichever base method you choose, it should be built above-ground level to avoid water pooling inside the shed.  It is 100% necessary for the base to be completely level so that the shed will assemble correctly.

How easy are Lifetime sheds to build?

Answer: Lifetime sheds are easy to build and come with a very detailed instruction manual for ease of assembly.  It is possible to build a shed by yourself, though we always recommend grabbing a friend to help with the construction of the shed.  It makes the process much easier, faster and more enjoyable.

Do you ship Lifetime sheds to Hawaii or Alaska?

Who is charging my credit card?

I tried to place a credit card order but was declined because of “error 2”. What is this?

Answer: An "error 2" code means that your transaction was declined due to you bank’s preset transaction limit on your credit card. What typically happens when this error occurs is that the credit card issuer has a preset limit on your account for a single transaction (such as $1000 or $2000 per transaction). When a transaction larger than the preset limit is attempted the order is declined.

To resolve this you simply need to call your credit card issuer/bank and ask them to approve the transaction and/or raise your transaction limit.
